Common questions

The camera will not open

DeskScan needs Camera access to scan a page. On iPhone go to Settings → DeskScan → Camera and turn it on. You can also import a photo from the picker on the camera screen.

How do I restore a Pro purchase?

Open DeskScan → Settings → Restore purchases. Apple checks the Apple ID that bought DeskScan Pro. Use the same Apple ID on this iPhone.

What is included for free?

Capture, crop, Original / Enhanced / Black & White, rotate, reorder, delete pages, local search, PDF or JPG share, and optional Face ID lock. Export is never paywalled. Your first 3 saved documents also include Pro tools.

What does Pro add?

Pro Clean for harder pages, a searchable PDF text layer, split each page into its own document, smarter OCR filenames, and client or project labels. Pro is a one-time In-App Purchase through Apple.

Face ID will not unlock the app

Face ID is optional. Confirm Face ID is set up on the iPhone, then check Settings → DeskScan → Face ID. You can also use the device passcode from the lock screen in the app. Turn the lock off in DeskScan Settings if you no longer want it.

How do I delete a document?

Open the document and delete it from the detail screen. That removes the scan and its searchable text from this iPhone. Deleting a document does not restore a used Pro trial slot. To remove everything, delete the app.

Do you store my files in the cloud?

Version 1.0 keeps scans, OCR, and PDFs on your iPhone. If you share a file, iOS sends it only to the app or destination you choose. See the Privacy Policy.
